A Volunteer Diver Hunting for Trash Finds a 1,000-Year-Old Canoe in a Wisconsin Lake
Mark Schachtner was wrapping up a cleanup dive in Wisconsin's Pewaukee Lake when he spotted a long, mysterious object resting on the lake floor. A closer look revealed a dugout canoe, and a very, very old one at that. It's a reminder that sometimes the best treasure turns up exactly when you're looking for garbage.
